Stay warm and enrich your knowledge of Alaska's wildlife. Join us this winter on select second Wednesdays from September through April in the Alaska Zoo Gateway Hall. Each talk begins at 7pm and covers a topic focused on wildlife of the Great Land - Alaska. The talks are approximately 45 minutes with questions and answers. Lectures are FREE to the public. November 8: Tree Swallows in Alaska by Rachel Gringas, ADFG. Rachel received a BS in Natural Sciences from UAA in 2018, and while pursuing that degree, worked for a Tree Swallow monitoring project and had the opportunity to complete undergraduate research examining stable isotope variability in multiple tissues. She received an MS in Biological Sciences from UAA and work as a Wildlife Technician 3 in the Wildlife Information Center for ADFG. Join Rachel for a talk focusing on using Tree Swallows (Tachycineta bicolor; TRES) as a model avian organism.
