We Are ALL Readers - Children's Book Festival

We Are ALL Readers invites you to a day of celebration of diverse books, creators, and readers! Join us at North Kingstown High School on April 6, 2024 for hands-on fun, storytimes, author talks, and book signings. Meet your new favorite author in person!
Doors open at 9:30 am, scheduled events start at 10:00.
Free admission.

Doors open at 9:30
Festival runs from 10 AM - 2 PM on April 6, 2024 at North Kingstown High School
9:30 - 2 Hands-on Activities and Book Signings (Cafeteria)
Join us in the cafeteria for hands-on art and writing activities for kids, a pop-up bookstore hosted by Wakefield books, book signings by our presenting authors and illustrators, and community tables. From 11 - 2 there will be food trucks outside.
10:00 Welcome (Auditorium)
10:10 - 11:35 Picture Book Storytimes with Authors and Illustrators (Auditorium)
Join our authors and illustrators on stage in the auditorium for a cozy storytime and Q&A session. Book signings/Author meet-and-greets will follow each talk.

10:45 - 11:30 Make Your Own Comics Workshop (Library)
Rhode Island graphic novelist Cathy Johnson (THE BREAKAWAYS) will teach this hands-on comics making workshop for kids 7-12. Preregistration required because of limited space. A book signings/Author meet-and-greet will follow the workshop.
11:30 - 12:00 Rhode Island Bucket Drummers (Outside/Atrium)
Feel the beat at this heart-pounding drumming performance, followed by an interactive drumming session for kids.
12:00 - 1:35 Graphic Novel Author Talks (Auditorium)
Get a glimpse behind the scenes of graphic novel creation with these four creators. Book signings/Author meet-and-greets will follow each talk.
