Valhalla Viking Festival
Friday, July 26, 2024 -- Sunday, July 28, 2024, 1000 - 0000
Valhalla is a 3 day Viking Festival full of entertainment and activities.
You'll feel like you've entered a whole new realm as soon as you pass through the giant Dragon Skull to enter Valhalla.
You can learn how the Vikings lived in our Living History Village, spectate reenactment battles in the arena, see weapons demonstrations, witness a 26ft Viking boat burning, enjoy daring fire shows in the evening and even have the little ones face the Vikings in the arena. You can take part in numerous workshops such as Blacksmithing, leatherworking, jewellery casting, willow weaving, tablet weaving, medieval calligraphy, naalbinding, runology, firewalking and many more or peruse our historic market traders to find unique handmade items.
You can enjoy activities such as games, archery and axe throwing or relax listening to stories of the Gods told by our traditional storyteller in our woodland temple, surrounded by human height wood carved statues of the Norse Gods. The woodland temple will see various ceremonies over the weekend including two Viking handfastings (weddings).
There is live music on the stage in our Mead Hall all day long and at night you can join hundreds of people in our Viking Feast with food and drinks included (this activity is ticketed separately to the festival entry).
A giant Throne is open for all to experience and use for photos symbolising some of the most important creatures in Norse Mythology. Painstakenly carved in high detail by the world famous chainsaw artist, Matthew Crabb.
You can even meet and hold Birds of Prey and meet a real raven.
You can spectate, be entertained, relax or take part in many things so be sure to check out www.valhallavikingfestival.co.uk to see all that's in store for Valhalla Viking Festival 2024
This is only a small preview of all that is planned for an exciting weekend. The festival is open to all ages and is dog friendly too.
