University of Delaware Ag Day 2024
Saturday, April 27, 2024, 1000 - 1500
Ag Day is a decades-old University of Delaware tradition, drawing thousands to the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources each April. Community members enjoy more than 50 attractions, demonstrations, exhibits, and educational activities designed to showcase the wide world of agriculture and natural resources. Ag Day also includes live performances, plant sales, a diverse food court, and a range of experiences for every age.
Whether you're an avid gardener or agricultural newbie, the event has something for everyone - activities, food, entertainment, animals, plant sales, educational exhibits and the famous UDairy Creamery ice cream.
The UD Botanic Gardens expects a full house for its popular spring plant sale. And back as always is the ever-popular Animal Science tent, led by the Animal Science Club and the Department of Animal and Food Sciences. Located in the large lawn area in front of Townsend Hall, the exhibit features sheep, a cow and calf, a stuffed animal pet hospital and much more.
UD Cooperative Extension, the outreach arm of a land-grant institution like UD, boasts exhibits all over the Ag Day map, including 4-H Youth Development, Master Gardeners, Master Naturalist and Family and Consumer Science programs.
The title sponsor of University of Delaware Ag Day is FMC, a leading agricultural sciences company that employs many Blue Hen alumni. The FMC tent, which debuted in 2022, is bursting with exhibits!
For the event's 2024, UD students selected "From the Ground Up," which recognizes agriculture and natural resources' rich, nurturing, and deep foundation that encourages continued innovation, collaboration and builds toward a prosperous, resilient future.
