The UCAP School 35th Anniversary Spring Social
Thursday, April 25, 2024, 1700 - 1900
This annual event includes a reception with delicious food and drinks, student-led tours of The UCAP School, awesome live auction emceed by Joe Wilson, Jr., and presentation of the Rob DeBlois For All Kids Award this year honoring David Haffenreffer. For 2024, the event is bigger and better than ever as we celebrate UCAP's 35th anniversary!
When UCAP was founded in 1989, the primary purpose was to serve students who had been held back one grade or more. Now student recruitment has expanded and UCAP's student body includes not only students who have been retained in grade, but also those who are behind and are at high risk of dropping out. An independent public school, UCAP serves students in grades 7 and 8 primarily from the urban areas of Providence. 100% of UCAP's programs and services are provided free of charge.
UCAP provides high quality education, enrichment and recreational programs, and social/emotional support to over 140 students each year. In addition to these carefully curated school supports, UCAP offers out-of-school time programs daily during the school year as well as some weekends, holidays and during the summer. These programs give students a safe and supervised space outside of school hours to form peer relationships in social settings, get out of their neighborhoods and experience other parts of the region, and explore potential career paths.
All proceeds from the Spring Social benefit UCAP students and the purchase of a new bus!
Thursday, April 25th from 5-7 p.m. The UCAP School, 75 Carpenter Street, Providence. Complimentary valet parking. Tickets are $35; sponsorships also available. Visit www.ucap.org, carriec@ucap.org, 401.272.0881.
