THE ELLEN THEATRE
Adapted from Sigrid Nunez's novel, What Are You Going Through, Almodovar's latest feature follows Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) who were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. Ingrid went on to become an autofiction novelist while Martha became a war reporter, and the circumstances of life separated them. After years of being out of touch, they meet again when Martha is diagnosed with a terminal illness and seeks to die on her own terms, with Ingrid by her side. Rated PG13 ((Strong Language|Some Sexual References|Thematic Content).
Following the film, Dr. Colette Gomez-Kirchhoff, MD, will discuss medical aid in dying. Dr. Gomez-Kirchhoff has practiced for 32 years in Bozeman as a family, hospice, and palliative care physician, and has testified in Helena on HB 637 and SB136. Montana is one of eleven states in the nation that currently allows the practice of physician assisted suicide.
