Stand Up: The Gameshow
Saturday, November 16, 2024, 1930 - 2200
A pub quiz with a twist! All the trivia questions are set by the material performed by a bill of top stand-up comedians!
YES, IT'S LONDON'S FIRST PUB QUIZ COMEDY MASH-UP! PROBABLY
Doors from 7pm
Show 7.30pm - 10pm
What's better than stand-up comedy AND a pub quiz? BOTH!
WHAT IS IT?
Brace yourself for a bill of STAND-UP COMEDY like no other. Why? Because it's also a QUIZ NIGHT, where the questions, puzzles and games are related to what a stand-up comedian has JUST said. Each round tests teams of quizzers about the comedy: predicting punchlines, trivia based on funny stories and mini-games inspired by the material. Pay attention to pocket prizes!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Brilliant stand-ups: big names, huge laughs.
Rounds of quizzing: each tests you on the act you just saw.
Focus on the funnies: pay attention to the jokes, because they may be an answer to a question!
Assemble your teams: Bring your biggest brains and get ready to laugh yourself clever.
THE BILL
Huge Davies - "Deadpan musical genius" as seen on Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV), Guessable (Comedy Central) and Hypothetical (Dave)
Erika Ehler - "razor-sharp, dark and visceral: an exciting young comedian" as seen on Comedians Giving Lectures (Dave), LAMOF and Comedy Central
Marlon Davis - "talented comedian and fantastic storyteller" as seen on Live at the Apollo, Stand Up Sketch Show and Comedy Central LIVE
And special guest...
Ruth Brown - "Soul-singing sensation" professional artist from The Voice
WHAT CAN I WIN?
Jim and Tonic Gin, and a guided tour of the gin distillery worth £50
4 x pairs of premium socks, by Ivy Ellis Socks
£25 of Creams Ice Cream
I'M COVINCED. BUT WHAT ELSE?
The evening is being supported by East London Brewery and GAIL's Bakery, who are both kindly stocking the licensed bar with booze and baked goodies.
WHAT'S IT FOR?
This event will raise money for nearby Greenleaf Primary School! So you're actually being a great person buying a ticket. So, good on you. Back pats all round. Also, the drinks are surprisingly cheap for London. You'll be like "woah?!", promise.
Organised by Bob Fletcher; Walthamstow resident, dad and TV producer of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Celebrity Big Brother, A League Of Their Own and Battle in the Box.
