RICHIO SUZUKI x MR BEN ROOFTOP SESSION INCOMING!!! Sat Jan 20 - (8pm-1am / Free entry) - Time for our weekly series of Saturday Night Rooftop DJ Sessions - this week hosted by good time eclectic funk/soul 45 slinging retrolicious DJ RICHIO SUZUKI + very special guest MR BEN. A 5 hour session where we invite you to drink, dance and seriously get merry to the beats, breaks and eclectic sounds, delivered by a line up of heavyweight good time DJs, Free Entry up on the (weatherproof) roof at The CLF Art Lounge and Roof Garden.
RICHIO SUZUKI
Richio Suzuki has been spinnin’ tunes for over 35 years. He has moved around playing in many area’s including House in late 80s, old skool hip hop in 90s, eclectic back room and bar sets, celebrity parties, TV shows and festivals. Playing at Ministry of Sound, Southport Weekender and festivals such as Lovebox, Lattitude and Standon Calling.
He has had long residencies at hotel bars such as St Martin’s Lane, Metropolitan Hotel, Hoxton Hotel and recently The Ned. In recent years he’s been playing Funk, Soul, Disco, Jazz, Ska and Northern Soul; plus 50s and 60s at venues like the CLF Art Cafe / Bussey at South London Soul Train in Peckham, Ronnie Scotts in Soho, Passing Clouds in Dalston, and Old Street Records in Shoreditch.
Richio currently hosts several events – Hawaiian Bop, Version Excursion, Mellow Mellow Right On and Music Is My Sanctuary. He has traveled to play abroad visiting Japan, Thailand, France, Ibiza, Belgium, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Italy, Denmark and Bahrain.
MR BEN
Mr Ben started his DJing career 30 years ago as a young lad warming up for the likes of Carl Cox at The Zap club in Brighton, where he then later ran club nights from Malibu Stacey and Miss Money Penny. Not to mention organising the tour for Boy George’s DJing debut all over Germany.
After beginning his career as a DJ, Ben started to find his feet organising events, hosting a monthly night at Privilege, one of the worlds biggest night clubs. Ben’s career has seen him play in the wildest of venues, from Anyhoe Park, Latitude Festival, Wilderness Festival to name a few, and of course countless residency gigs at some of London’s finest venues, not to mention the closing ceremony at the London 2012 Olympics.
During COVID, Ben took it upon himself to create a Radio Station, giving DJs the platform to promote their sound and new releases during a time where gigging was nowhere to be seen. Brixton Radio has now grown into a community of hundreds of DJs, hosting weekly parties and broadcasting 24/7.
