Local actor, Kirk Simpson, reprises the role of America's favorite poet in this intimate one-man adaptation.
For the past 13 years at Clay Hill Farm, tear-stained audiences have left the restaurant saying, "Wow, I never knew that about Robert Frost", after an intimate afternoon with Kirk Simpson as the literary legend in June August's, FROST: Fire and Ice.
Following sold-out performances as Edgar Allen Poe and Charles Dickens, Simpson brings to life another beloved author in this one-man production. Flowing from narrative to poetry, this remarkable dramatic reading of August's FROST: Fire and Ice, provides insight into the life of the famed writer and Pulitzer-prize winner. Simpson's unique brand of storytelling provides an intimate dining experience for Frost fans, theater fans and anyone interested in the trials and triumphs of a famous New Englander.
Clay Hill Farm Presents..., FROST: Fire and Ice, opens Sunday, February 16th at 1pm, for 4 matinée performances. Sunday: 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, and 3/9. Playwright, composer, and lyricist, June August authored Robert Frost: Fire and Ice for Arthur Peterson of TV's Soap, Mission Impossible and the Walton's Fame in 1981. The following year the play premiered at the Pasadena Playhouse and in 1984 had a three-month run off-Broadway. Over the next ten years, Peterson toured the show in the U.S. and Europe.
Kirk Simpson has over 35 years of experience in entertainment. His talents vary from musical theater, dramas, comedies, interactive theatre, murder mysteries, historical recreations, renaissance fairs, children's theatre, voice over, and so much more. Kirk, originally from Massachusetts, currently resides in So. Berwick, ME with his husband, Jim Winters. A recent graduate of Maine College of Art, Simpson freelances as a graphic designer (ksimpsondesign.com) and artist and is the reigning Monarch - King Richard XI at King Richard's Faire in Carver, MA- in addition to being the star and co-founder of Clay Hill Farm Presents... for the last 12 years.
