Remembrance Day Parade

We at the British legion in Southwick along with Louise Goble and her staff at the Romans Pub in Manor hall road have been raising funds to pay for a proper marching band to be present at our service . This is deemed to not be military but community so we had to raise over £4.000. This was achieved by quiz nights, raffles , family fun days , and a meat raffle from our local butchers , mike John in Southwick square . Dale and Rod , two ex army veterans, have worked tirelessly to get this event off the ground . We have now managed to secure a 32 piece marching band , a piper , the oily rags vintage military vehicle club, the mods with their scooters and all their flags , the Shoreham fire service in full uniform , us the veterans , all followed by the local girl guides , brownies , cubs and scouts , boys and girls parade . it is going to be a lovely event , celebrating the lives of the fallen . i am also hoping to get some of the elderly veterans help to attend.
