Individuals with disabilities may register for a virtual information session to learn how to apply for a unique Project SEARCH internship program at Backus Hospital.
United Cerebral Palsy of Eastern Connecticut (UCP) is hosting online sessions in June to provide details about its acclaimed Project SEARCH internship program. The nine-month program prepares young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) for competitive employment. The program has room for six interns this year. Nationally, statistics report that 75% of graduates are hired, often by the businesses that hosted the Project SEARCH Program.
Remaining Zoom sessions are at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday June 5 and 12. Interested individuals and families are encouraged to register for and attend a session to learn more about program details, eligibility requirements and the application process. The Transition to Work Program at Backus Hospital starts September 16, 2024. The application deadline is June 14.
