Out of Harm's Way: Innovation, Insight and Action to End the Toxic Drug Crisis in Victoria on 26 March 2025
Wednesday, March 26, 2025, 1300 - 1600
Join us for an inspiring and truthful dialogue grounded in resilience, persistence and diversity as past and present substance users share their personal experiences of recovery and wellness - and their insights into how BC's challenged and patchwork substance-use supports helped and hindered them on that journey. Harm reduction and recovery advocate Guy Felicella will lead this inspiring and truthful conversation.

The event will also feature two powerful keynotes, the first from Indigenous activist, advocate and facilitator Sekani Dalketh, and a closing keynote from groundbreaking activist Ann Livingston. Ann's long-time activism alongside Dean Wilson was critically important to the opening of Canada's first safe injection site in Vancouver in 2003. Ann co-founded the Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users (VANDU) and more recently helped found a similar network in Nanaimo.

This is the third and final event in Peers Victoria's speaker series on the toxic drug crisis. Events are being videotaped and are available for viewing on the Peers YouTube channel approximately 2-3 weeks after each event.
