Inspired by our beautiful Puget Sound region and the importance of caring for it, Northwest Sinfonietta's Sky and Sea explores three expansive and imaginative works-Marjan Mozetich's Postcards from the Sky, Debussy's iconic La Mer, and Viet Cuong's Re(new)al for solo percussion quartet and sinfonietta, celebrating renewable hydro, wind and solar energies. Sky and Sea is conducted by Northwest Sinfonietta Artistic Partner and world-renowned conductor Mei-Ann Chen, and features four incredible local percussionists, Mark Goodenberger, Matt Drum, Jeff Lund and Bonnie Whiting. We are teaming up with Tacoma Tree Foundation, Communities for a Healthy Bay and the Environmental Studies program at University of Puget Sound for additional activities around this concert.
