Next4Ukraine
Ukrainians have the courage to imagine their future without war. But what does that look like and how can it be built?
Join our expert panel discussion 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, April 15th in the Honorable Karen J. Williams Courtroom in the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law. Registration is encouraged and open to all.
Ukraine is the front line in the fight between the rule of law and a resurgent, might-makes-right totalitarianism. The need for weapons is ever present, but so is hope for peace. The National Security Law Society and the International Law Society have brought together experts for our Next4Ukraine panel to discuss how hurdles and opportunities will influence what a resilient future in Ukraine can look like.
Our panelists include:
· Mike Elsner (Member, Motley Rice) - an expert on large-scale cross-border litigation, will discuss what we can learn from past cases where victims of human rights violations sought justice in the courts.
· Dmytro Fedoruk (Partner, Redcliffe Partners, Kyiv) - an expert on international M and A projects, will discuss Ukraine's path towards developing a stronger, more self-sufficient defense sector.
· Dr. Stanislav Markus (Professor, Darla Moore School of Business) - an expert on international business and political risk in emerging markets, will discuss efforts and strategies of the Ukrainian government to fight oligarchy.
Each panelist will speak for 10 minutes before we move into a 30-minute Q and A session. We are soliciting questions for the panel here: https://forms.office.com/r/A88SAm0z0c.
