Share the event and invite your friends and family for some pre-barbecue fun!
This year's theme is "Garden Of Plenty." The Newtown Labor Day Parade Committee is pleased to have Sue and Jim Shortt as the 2024 Grand Marshals for the 62nd Annual Newtown Labor Day Parade.
Jim and Sue are the owners of Shortt's Farm, a beautiful 6-acre, USDA-certified organic vegetable farm located at 52
Riverside Rd, Sandy Hook, Connecticut. The farm is an old-fashioned, family-run business, and they hope to continue the tradition for many years. They have been an integral part of our community for years.
This year, we posthumously honor Mr. William Brimmer. Bill was a longtime community resident with many accomplishments throughout his career and within the community. Bill was an essential part of The Newtown Labor Day Parade.
We will miss Bill tremendously and offer our continued thoughts and prayers to Bills family, his many friends and colleagues.
Many thanks to our beloved Newtown Bee for this recent article about the committee’s selection.
