Mobsters and Molls
Saturday, April 13, 2024, 1900 - 2300
In America, Prohibition is still in full swing - but while alcohol is difficult to attain, it certainly isn't impossible.
Mickey Scapone is boss of the largest gang responsible for importing the contraband. He owns Germania, arguably the most popular speakeasy in Johnstown. From bodyguards to sassy jazz singers, alcohol to fine dining, this hip club has everything.
And tonight - it even has a murder. Mickey Scapone, the big boss himself, is dead.
In teams of 4 to 6 members, you'll watch the story play out before your eyes, all over the Heritage Discovery Center - and try to solve the mystery! An all-star cast including Tamera Gindlesperger, Randy Jeffries, Ben Berkebile, Christina Fosbrink, and Cassidy Polacek will enact the story - and our celebrity detective, Russell Shorto, will be on hand to reveal the solution.
Throughout the evening we'll enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and live jazz. Era-appropriate attire encouraged!
Each member of the winning team will receive a personally autographed copy of Russell Shorto's book, "Smalltime: A Story of My Family and the Mob." Participants will be assigned to a team of 4 to 6 members. If you plan to attend with friends and wish to be on the same team, please buy your tickets as a group or contact Deb Winterscheidt at dwinterscheidt@jaha.org.
Single tickets and sponsorships are available as listed below! You can also download a sponsorship form, here, or contact Deb Winterscheidt at 814-539-1889 x315.
