Miners' Strike at 40: Still the Enemy Within - Film and Discussion
Saturday, May 25, 2024, 1000 - 1300
Still the Enemy Within is a unique insight into one of history's most dramatic events: the 1984-85 British Miners' Strike. No experts. No politicians. Forty years on, this is the raw first-hand experience of those who lived through Britain's longest strike. Follow the highs and lows of that life-changing year.
This film screening will be followed by a live Q+A with Joanna Gilmore (York Law School), Mike Simons (Executive Producer, Still the Enemy Within; Author of The Great Strike: Miners' Strike of 1984-85 and Its Lessons) and others.
Organised by York Law School with funding from the British Academy and the Leverhulme Trust. Supported by York City Unison and York TUC.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign: https://otjc.org.uk/
