Meditation Retreat: Introduction to Tantra

This in-depth retreat is an experiential introduction to authentic Buddhist Tantra. Motivated by the compassionate wish to help others, you learn to purify and transform your mind by harnessing the natural bliss and wisdom of your own mind in meditation and daily life. When you gain deep experience of Tantra, you will quickly accomplish enlightenment and be able to bring profound peace and happiness to others.

No previous experience is necessary; absolutely everyone is welcome. This class is held in person, and is also available by livestream for monthly members.

SCHEDULE
10:00 - 11:00am: Teaching and Guided Meditation 1
11:30am - 12:30pm: Teaching and Guided Meditation 2
12:30 - 1:30pm: lunch break
1:30 - 2:30pm: Teaching and Guided Meditation 3
3:00 - 4:00pm: Teaching and Guided Meditation 4

TEACHER
Gen Kelsang Zamling is a modern Buddhist monk and the main teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Chicago. Gen Zamling has taught Kadampa Buddhism for many years in the United States and in the UK. Gen Zamling is known for his practical approach, warmth, and clarity. He is well-loved by his students, and sets an immaculate example of someone who has taken Buddha's teachings to heart.

Kadampa Meditation Center Chicago is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to sharing the practical wisdom of Buddha's teachings in the Chicago area. We offer a schedule of weekly drop-in classes, retreats, workshops, and opportunities to make meaningful connections with others. Most of these are held at our two locations: in Oak Park and in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood.
