Makers Market
Saturday, October 19, 2024, 0900 - 1300
On October19, 2024, The Strasburg-Heisler Library will host its fourth annual Maker’s Market. The premise of the Makers Market is to show our community members that its library is a place for them to connect with others and share ideas.
After a hectic summer of children’s programs and events, now it’s time to refocus our attention on our adult community members. The content of a Makers Market comes from the community. There are many talented people who seek an opportunity to talk about their passion and display and sell their work. Many larger maker events require that vendors already have proof of large numbers of sales, a website, and to provide a history of other events where they’ve participated. This is difficult for someone new at selling their work. The library’s role is two-fold: to provide the venue for seasoned vendors and new ones, and to ensure that there will be a wide variety of items for the public to enjoy and shop. Shoppers will find crocheted animals and wearables, printed art cards, framed art, handmade birdhouses, jewelry, stained glass items, jams, jellies and sauces, charcuterie boards, bags, mugs, candles, home décor, knitted accessories, tote bags, hats and much more!
Artists and crafters (adults over 18) are invited to participate for a small fee indoors or outside where there is plenty of space for up to 40 vendors. Indoor spaces are given on a first to complete registration basis. Volunteers will be on-site early in the morning to assist the vendors in off-loading their vehicles and parking. Joe on the Go Coffee Co, will have a tent set up early to sell coffee and other hot and cold beverages and freshly baked muffins and scones, the library’s Friends Group will be selling hot chili and mac andcheese.
