MINI-FOREST PLANTING PARTY WITH THE GORGE WATERWAY ACTION SOCIETY
Thursday, November 21, 2024, 0930 - 1200
Join the Gorge Waterway Action Society on Thursday, November 21 from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM for a community-wide planting event in Esquimalt-Gorge Park
This free event is open to all, no planting experience necessary. You can RSVP through our events page on our website: www.gorge.ca or look for the more details link button! GWAS will provide all of the planting equipment, including gloves, shovels, and of course the plants! Please wear boots and comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes.
Mini-Forests are created using a dense, biodiverse grid pattern that suits urban restoration sites with smaller footprints. GWAS will be restoring a Mini-Forest site just outside the Gorge Waterway Nature House, and a Garry oak meadow in the Indigenous Nature Interpreter Stewardship site. We can't wait to share the joy of planting with you!
The Gorge Waterway Action Society acknowledges and respects the lək'ʷəŋən-speaking Peoples on whose traditional and unceded territories we work and the Songhees, Esquimalt, T'Sou-ke, W̱SÁNEĆ and other First Nations peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day
