Chicago Rocker Stuart Chaseman, Star of Netflix Show 'Jewish Matchmaking,' to Perform in Arlington Heights Jan. 26
When Chicago rock musician Stuart Chaseman appeared on Season One of the Netflix show "Jewish Matchmaking" earlier this year, audiences were captivated by his deadpan humor, musical abilities and strong stance on social justice. As a result, he became one of the most beloved personalities on the show, with re-posts of his quips from the show reaching over 24 million views on TikTok.
Now, the longtime local artist is performing his first concert since his newfound fame on Friday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Hey Nonny in Arlington Heights. Tickets range from $15 to $35.
At the show, Chaseman and his band The Born Again Sinners- which includes guitarist Philip Amerson, bassist Andrew Hintz, keyboard player Marcus Smith and drummer Matt Severing - will be performing songs from Chaseman's latest album, Secrets, Lies and Alibis, which was released in May 2023, as well as his older music and covers of several classic rock songs.
In addition, Chaseman will host a meet-and-greet before the show and will spend time answering questions from the audience about his time on the popular Netflix show.
A native of Buffalo Grove, Chaseman graduated from Adlai Stevenson High School in 1988 before graduating from UIC with a degree in marketing in 1993. And while he's had a day job running an advertising company, his heart has always been in music.
Known for his gritty voice and sensitive lyrics, Chaseman's distinctive sound takes reference from American roots rock artists such as Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. He released his previous solo album, Next Exit... Brigadoon, in 2010.
His newest album, Secrets, Lies and Alibis, features original songs that draw inspiration from Chaseman’s past experiences with failed relationships.
"It's ironic that so many of the songs on the album are about failed relationships, and then right after it came out, I ended up on a Jewish dating show," Chaseman said. "I guess expressing myself through my music helped me get prepared to finally have a positive romantic relationship.
