National Teen Driver Safety Week (NTDSW) is a critical time to raise awareness about teen driver safety and find solutions to reduce the risk of crashes. Arizona ranks as the 10th deadliest state for teen drivers, and with the 2023 Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) report revealing the second-highest number of car crash fatalities on record, it’s more important than ever for parents and teens to take proactive steps.

As part of this effort, DrivingMBA will be hosting a special open house on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at both its Scottsdale and Glendale locations from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. This event will provide parents and teens with a behind-the-scenes look at how DrivingMBA uses advanced simulation technology to enhance driver education and reduce the risk of collisions.

Event Highlights:
Demonstrations of DrivingMBA’s Fundamentals and Defensive Driving Simulators – Experience how our simulators teach new drivers to handle dangerous road situations safely.

DrivingMBA’s Commitment to Teen Driver Safety:
DrivingMBA, a locally-owned and operated driving school, is dedicated to keeping teens safe on the road by addressing the root causes of teen crashes—inexperience, distractions, and peer pressure. Unlike traditional driving schools, DrivingMBA integrates classroom learning, on-road instruction, and advanced simulation training labs, giving teens a more comprehensive education on safe driving techniques.

Owner Maria Wojtczak emphasizes the importance of these programs:

“The statistics are staggering and frightening for teen drivers on the roads today. As we go back to school, incidents of car crashes involving teens increase due to the sheer amount of time teens are on the roads and the distractions they face.”

Sobering Statistics:
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), teen drivers aged 16-19 are three times more likely to be involved in a fatal crash than drivers aged 20 and older.
The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that between 2013-2022, 543 Arizona teen drivers (ages 15-18) were involved in fatal motor vehicle crashes. In 2022 alone, 72 Arizona teen drivers lost their lives in collisions.
How Parents Can Help:
Enroll Teens in Driver Education – Encourage them to build a solid foundation of safe driving skills.
Set a Zero-Tolerance Policy for Phone Use – Reducing distractions is key to preventing crashes.
Lead by Example – Avoid using your phone while driving to set a good example for your teen.
Use Monitoring Apps – Track your teen’s driving habits and provide real-time feedback through smartphone apps.
How to RSVP:
RSVP by October 9, 2024, by emailing marya@drivingmba.com. For more information, contact Phillip or Michael at 480-948-1648.
