The Lanesborough Council on Aging is excited to announce a new series of workshops entitled "HEALTHY AGING: Diet and Daily Habits to Avoid Disease, Improve Brain Function and Mood, and Age Well", hosted by Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach and Lanesborough resident, Irene Chang. This four-part workshop series will focus on providing individuals with practical knowledge and tools to avoid disease, improve brain function and mood, and age well.
These four sessions are designed to empower participants with strategies to maintain an active and vibrant lifestyle as they age. Irene Chang, with her expertise in functional health, will cover key aspects of healthy aging, including:
Nutrition for Healthy Aging: Learn anti-inflammatory meal strategies that support overall health and vitality.
Brain Health: Discover evidence-based approaches to maintaining and improving brain function, with a focus on Alzheimer’s prevention.
Physical Activity: Simple and effective exercises will be introduced to promote mobility and muscle strength.
Better Sleep Tools: Explore practical tips and lifestyle changes to improve sleep quality and boost mood.
Stress Management: Techniques to manage stress, foster social connections, and maintain a positive outlook.
The coaching sessions aim to provide actionable steps for fostering both physical health and emotional well-being. "We want to offer our community the resources to age with confidence and vitality," added Irene Chang. "These sessions are designed to help people take control of their health and enjoy life to the fullest as they get older."
Lorna Gayle, Director of the Lanesborough COA, expressed her enthusiasm for this initial series of workshops, stating, "These Healthy Aging sessions are a dream come true. I have been a fan of functional medicine for many years as I have seen the benefit of it in my own life. Please come, it may change your life!"
