Funhouse Comedy Club - Comedy Night in Southwell March 2024
Thursday, March 14, 2024, 2000 - 2300
Funhouse Comedy Club brings another great night of laughter to the Saracens Head, Southwell on Thursday March 14th.
Topping the bill is Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Glenn Moore, who has appeared on BBC TV’s ‘Mock the Week’. One of the best and most prolific joke writers in the country, having written for BBC’s The Mash Report, Play To The Whistle, and Russell Howard’s Good News. With his silly turn of phrase and smart little one-liners and funny observations, he keeps the audience hanging on to his every word.
Opening the night will be the unique and hilarious Stephen Grant. A TV and radio presenter/guest as well as a talented writer he still finds time for stand-up. With his wonderful anecdotal material, his speed and dynamism create a magical energy, which has everyone gripped.
Also appearing is the deadpan Peter Brush, who was a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Award 2013 and has written for BBC Radio 4’s ‘The News Quiz’; as well as supporting Arthur Smith and Stephen K Amos on tour. Sometimes referred to as a geek, his mind seems to find the oddities in ‘normality’! His imaginative use of words and strange lines of thought, results in unique and sharp material.
Completing the line-up will be Yorkshire double act The Halls of Ridiculous pushing the boundaries of improv, sketch and character creativity.
Compere for the night is the amiable and animated Spiky Mike.
