Festival of Camellias
Thursday, February 1, 2024 -- Thursday, February 29, 2024, 1000 - 1630
Camellia plants will be on sale throughout the season and during each event. The Garden Gift Shop will also be open with an eclectic collection of camellia and garden-themed gifts ranging from home decor to jewelry and accessories.
Professionally guided tours and box lunches are available throughout the season for groups of ten or more. Tour lunches are available on a first come, first served basis. Boxed lunch tours are $25 each and will be served between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Lunches are provided by The Railroad Cafe of Fort Valley, Georgia. Tours may be scheduled before or after lunch.
- Each lunch includes choice sandwich, pickle spear, bag of chips, chocolate chip cookies, fruit cocktail, bottled water, mayo and mustard on the side, and utensils, napkin, salt and pepper.
- Choices include ham and Swiss, turkey and Swiss, chicken salad, or club sandwich. Please advise of any dietary restrictions when making reservations and placing an order for your group.
- Download a lunch menu and then call toll free (877) 422-6355 to select the date of your choice and make reservations. Payment must be received two weeks in advance for luncheon tours. (Cancellations require a week's advance notice.) Phone payments by credit card are accepted.
A schedule of fun activities will add to the joy of seeing so many different colors, sizes and forms of camellias, and educational presentations and workshops will offer information on developing, caring for and enjoying camellias. You may also just take a stroll through the gardens!

January 2024 Mid-season Camellia japonicas, hybrids and reticulatas in bloom, guided tours and box lunches (10+) and camellia plants sold at Massee Lane Gardens.
February 3, 2024 Festival of Camellias Opening Day: Free Admission to Massee Lane Gardens will start off with Super-Sod Guest Speakers, Helen McGregor and Nestor Vela doing a presentation on 3 types of composting methods in line with the 2024 Festival Theme, "Conservation for Preservation". Musical performances by the Peach County High School Band (Jazz Band) will also be held to celebrate the festival's annual kick-off day. Botanical Artist Linda Fraser's Presentation and Art Exhibit, a Japanese Ikebana Exhibit, and Bullard's BBQ food truck will also be a part of opening day. Retail Camellia plants, Inflatables for the kids (slide and bouncy house) and two (2) Camellia plant raffle drawings will all be a part of the activities for our guests on this date.
February 10, 2024 Little Buds Fun Day: Free fun day for children ages 12 and under at Massee Lane Gardens with garden games and art activities. Mr. William Khoury, Superintendent of the Gardens, will be putting on a program, "Composting for Kids" at 11:00 a.m. A popular return of The Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences will present "The Classic" wildlife program at 1:00 p.m. Jonanne Beckman will be waxing camellias starting at 11:00 a.m. Young guests will also enjoy playing on an inflatable slide and Kona Ice will be onsite for the children to enjoy, along with available snacks and drinks in the Massee Lane Gardens Gift Shop.

Workshop Day: Jonanne Beckman will be waxing camellias starting at 11:00 a.m. A Camellia program by Tommy Martin of Middle Georgia Camellia Society is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. A Ceramics Workshop is offered by Iris Brand of Warner Robins "Piddle Shop". A registration fee of $20 plus garden admission fee will be required to participate in the ceramics program. The Jamaican Fury Food Fusion Food Truck will also be on site offering scrumptious foods throughout the day.
February 24, 2024 Middle Georgia Camellia Society and Flint Energies Annual Camellia Flower Show will be held in the Annabelle Lundy-Fetterman Museum and Gallery at Massee Lane Gardens and will be open to the public after the judging is complete. The Jamaican Fury Fusion Food Truck will be on site throughout the day.
