EarthWorks Presents Safe Haven: The Rainbow Jordan Wilderness - A Film Screening and Presentation in North Vancouver on 04 April 2025
Friday, April 4, 2025, 1900 - 2030
Join EarthWorks at Capilano University for a free screening of Damien Gillis and Valhalla Wilderness Society's new film, Safe Haven: The Rainbow-Jordan Wilderness. The 30 minute film will be followed by a presentation by Valhalla Wilderness Society biologist and campaigner Amber Peters, including stunning photography from 8 years of expeditions into the Rainbow-Jordan Wilderness and 22 years in Valhalla Wilderness Society's other two inland rainforest proposals, the Selkirk Mountains Ancient Forest park proposal and the Quesnel Lake Wilderness proposal.

The Rainbow-Jordan Wilderness proposal was designed to protect a globally significant Inland Temperate Rainforest near Revelstoke, BC. Since 2017 Valhalla Wilderness Society has studied the incredible biodiversity of this intact wilderness area that was previously unknown to science. Two years of filming in the proposal's ancient forest led to the creation of Safe Haven. The film is a call to action for British Columbians to support the campaign to protect one of our richest remaining temperate rainforest ecosystems.

This is a free event open for all ages. If you have any questions, please connect with EarthWorks Coordinators Cheryl Schreader cschreader@capilanou.ca and Nancy van Groll nancyvangroll@capilanou.ca
