E8 Art and Craft Trail
Saturday, December 7, 2024 -- Sunday, December 8, 2024, 1100 - 1700
There is something for everyone: from painting and printing to ceramics and photography, and from textiles to jewellery and even video. It is an ideal day out, wandering the E8 area and meeting and perhaps buying directly from the artists who live and work in the area. It is also the ideal opportunity to purchase unique and amazing Christmas gifts!
Most of the participating artists and makers have taken part in the four previous trails, but there will be a few new ones, for example: Ayse Habibe Kucuk in Broadway Mews with her ceramic tablewares and impressive sculptural objects; HL Mew who is showing some never before seen figurative paintings; and Yvonne Coughlan whose abstract paintings and collage can be found at Cafe Melo on Shacklewell Lane.
An interactive trail map can be followed easily on a phone and a printed map can be downloaded from the website.
"Being a part of the four previous E8 Art and Craft Trails and seeing the event go from strength to strength has been really life-affirming and a testament to the power of creativity in our local Hackney community," says Jim Boddington, organiser and ceramicist.
"I've lived in Dalston since the mid 80s and the one constant has been the presence of artists and musicians here. It's great to see this heritage celebrated and be part of its continuation". Hedy Parry-Davies, artist and organiser.
"It has been so good to take part in the trail - I've met so many neighbours and fellow artists through it". Frances Steele, painter and organiser.
