Craft Supply Swap and Sale
Wednesday, August 28, 2024, 1100 - 1800
How does the swap work?
On August 28th, between 11 and 2, stop by the Whitefish Community Center with your items. Sign up here https://www.nwmtfieldjournal.com/swapnsale to let us know that you have stuff to bring in! We’ll organize stuff into categories and place it on the $1/$5/$10 tables, then give you value tickets based on what you brought. At 2PM we will do the swap and you can take home whatever you like, using the value tickets to trade for new tools and supplies.
How does the sale work?
At 3PM we will transition to the sale portion of the event and the $1/$5/$10 tables will be open to the public. This portion is a fundraiser for The Making Place. If you bring in old craft supplies, it will either be swapped with another crafty person or sold to help The Making Place host more events, classes, and secure a physical location.
What should I bring?
Please only bring quality supplies in good condition so that everyone can go home with something inspiring.
Small items should be bundled into clear bags and grouped by size, style, theme or color.
We welcome: tools of all kinds, market display items, wood, leather, fabric, paint, ink, pens, pencils, paper, beads, books, yarn, trimmings…if you have a question about what you want to bring in, please message me.
Can I make money from the sale?
If you have a fancy piece of equipment that you would like to sell, we will accept a limited number of big pieces that we can sell for you and get you the proceeds after the sale. But mostly, this event involves a donation of your old stuff to benefit The Making Place and you get new stuff, new friends, and cleaner closets in the end.
Can I donate without swapping?
Yes, certainly!
Thanks to Allie with Northwest MT Field Journal for organizing this amazing event!!
