Central Illinois Hosta Society Auction

Hosta Society Auction - Hostas, Companion Plants, and Garden Art! Open to the Public.
The Central Illinois Hosta Society is hosting an auction on Tuesday, August 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the Illinois Central College East Peoria Campus at the Horticulture Building (ICC Landlab), 1 College Dr., East Peoria, IL. The auction will begin promptly at 6:30 but bidders are asked to come early to register and view all of the plants and garden related items to be auctioned. Hostas will be the stars, although we expect to have companion plants and garden art as well.
No credit cards can be accepted. We will accept only cash and checks. Bring your lawn chair for seating. This event is one of the ways we raise funds for the club and the community.
Donor information: Try to drop off items during the following hours:
Monday, August 19th, 3:30-6:30 pm
Tuesday August 20th, 8:30 am-noon
It is preferred to bring items during these hours rather than just before the auction, because of the time it takes to document the donation and get it ready for auction. We will accept some donated items just before the auction if there is time but there is no guarantee. Examples of donated items are purchased plants from retail garden shops or nurseries, hostas and other companion plants dug from your own gardens, garden art you purchased or crafted yourself or decorative pots. We ask that you donate plants that have a known name or variety (We can't accept unknown named plants). We are trying to take action to limit the spread of jumping worms in area gardens, so we ask that donors who donate plants from their own garden rinse the plants roots and stems in a bucket of water to remove all local soil in a clean pot. Plants purchased from a retailer or nursery for donation do not need to be rinsed and repotted in new potting soil.
