Critical Issues America
2024 Annual Conference - February 2-3, 2024
The meeting will help participants to identify and manage complications associated with endovascular and open repair of complex aortic disease including: arch descending thoracic, TAAA, pararenal and juxtarenal aneurysms, aortoiliac aneurysms and other miscellaneous pathologies affecting the aorta.
CIA will recognize potential treatment failure and the role of advance imaging techniques in the evaluation, treatment, and management of aortic disease.
The target audience includes physicians who specialize in vascular surgery, cardiology, interventional radiology, vascular medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, as well as fellows, and allied health professionals.
Objectives:
Provide an overview of current and unmet management of DLE complications caused by reduced blood supply and/or neuropathic damage
Discuss new developments in basic, translational and biomaterial research that impact DLE management
Explore new therapeutic approaches, from early pre-clinical to late clinical stage of development through presentations from leaders in academia and in the biotechnology industry
Identify possible areas of collaboration between academia and industry
Understand the impact and potential for Endovascular Repair of Aortic Arch Disease
Identify neuroprotective strategies after aortic repair
Recognize options (endovascular and open) for repair thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms
Understand role of "Off-the-Shelf" options for Endovascular repair of pararenal aneurysms
Identify appropriate patient selection for percutaneous aortic repair
Recognize necessary components to improve outcomes with ruptured aortic procedures
Understand challenges and strategies for the management of patients with aortic dissections
Identify the appropriate treatment options for blunt aortic injury patients
Recognize the role and potential for endovascular repair of mycotic aortic pathologies
Understand the role of new imaging modalities and techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with aortic disease
