Arts and Prose Celebration of Excellence in Scholarship, Art, Music and Literature

The Educational and Charitable Foundation (ECF), working with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Lambda Kappa Omega Chapter (LKO), will sponsor its annual Book Signing and Scholarship Celebration, Arts and Prose, on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 1-3 p.m. (doors open at 12:00 p.m.) at Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia. This special event highlights African American excellence in scholarship, art, music and literature.
Proceeds from the Arts and Prose event benefit ECF's scholarship and community programs. The foundation will award more than $30,000 in scholarships to deserving high school and college students and $6,000 to public educators in Fairfax County during the event.
Internationally renowned author Trisha R. Thomas and acclaimed opera soprano Aundi Marie Moore are this year's featured guests. Corey Arceneaux and the Zydeco Hot Peppers and Elite Formation Dance Studio will also perform.
Ms. Thomas will discuss her newest novel "The Secret Keeper of Main Street." Her debut novel, "Nappily Ever After," received critical acclaim and is a popular Netflix film.
Ms. Moore is known for her exquisite vocal talents and captivating stage presence. Her appearances include Strawberry Woman in the Metropolitan Opera's production of Porgy and Bess, Mother in Blue with Dutch National Opera and many more.
