Annual Meeting of the German Society for Orthodontics, Freiburg Trade Fair, 25-28 September 2024
Wednesday, September 25, 2024 -- Saturday, September 28, 2024, 0900 - 1800
Dear Colleague,
this year's annual scientific conference will take place from September 25 to 28, 2024 in Freiburg im Breisgau. I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you together with the conference president, Prof. Dr. Britta Jung from the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg. The trinational Upper Rhine metropolitan region, with the Freiburg trade fair, not only offers excellent conditions for our annual congress, but also a wide range of cultural opportunities.
For the 96th Annual Scientific Conference, the conference president has aptly chosen the main theme "Advances in orthodontics through synergy and diversity", thereby placing a special focus on the diverse therapeutic and technological possibilities of orthodontics in the context of dental, orofacial rehabilitation and general health maintenance.
The first main topic focuses on current developments in technology and treatment, with a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of the digital workflow in orthodontics. The second main topic is under the motto "Healthy and fit through orthodontics" and places orthodontic measures in the context of general health.
The free lectures and poster contributions will provide an opportunity to experience the variety of orthodontic research activities on clinical issues and in the basic scientific area, and the parallel symposium will once again enrich our annual conference as a platform for our young talent.
This year, two full-day courses are also being offered as pre-conferences. A pre-conference focusing on "Current interdisciplinary treatment concepts in orthodontics and periodontology" will be held jointly by our colleagues Dr. Gollner and Professors Katsaros and Sculean. The second full-day, English-language pre-conference on the technology-oriented topic of "Shape memory and aligner mechanics" will be organized by Prof. Dr. Ravindra Nanda from Farmington / USA.
The day for the practice team complements the program and this year is devoted to the question of "How and why does orthodontics work", which Prof. Dr. Dr. Ralf Radlanski from Berlin will answer these questions.
At the trade exhibition accompanying the conference, all visitors will also have the opportunity to find out about the latest innovations and developments in the dental industry and to get to know them in a compact form on site.
I am therefore very pleased to be able to welcome you personally on behalf of the German Society for Orthodontics to our 2024 annual conference at the Freiburg Trade Fair.
With friendly greetings,
Your Prof. Dr. Dr. Peter Proff
- President of the German Society for Orthodontics -
