Advent Retreat with Fr. Andrew Stephen Damick at Transfiguration Orthodox Church
Saturday, December 7, 2024, 1300 - 1600
Transfiguration Orthodox Church in Lititz, Pennsylvania, invites the community to a transformative Advent Retreat on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m. This year, the retreat will feature the esteemed Orthodox Christian priest and speaker Fr. Andrew Stephen Damick, presenting on the topic of "Salvation and the Unseen World."
Fr. Damick is a widely recognized speaker, author and theologian within the Orthodox Christian world, bringing a depth of knowledge and spiritual insight. With a background in the exploration of Orthodox Christianity, spirituality and the unseen world, Fr. Damick is known for his dynamic speaking style and profound theological perspectives. His books, including "Orthodoxy and Heterodoxy," "Arise, O God," and "An Introduction to God," as well as his widely followed podcasts such as "The Lord of Spirits," have made him a familiar name to Orthodox Christians and seekers alike.
This Advent marks a special milestone for Transfiguration Orthodox Church. Fr. Damick kicked off the parish opening in 2015, and now, nearly a decade later, he returns to lead the annual Advent retreat in the newly expanded and renovated sanctuary. The church, which recently completed a major expansion project, now features an extended worship space and fellowship area, located within the Warwick Center. To honor this milestone and give back to the wider community, attendees are invited to bring nonperishable canned or boxed food items for donation to the Lititz Warwick Community Chest.
The Advent Retreat offers a unique opportunity to prepare for the Christmas season, creating space for spiritual reflection, learning and a deeper understanding of salvation within the context of the unseen spiritual world. All are welcome to attend this retreat, and no prior experience or affiliation with the Orthodox Church is necessary.
