27th Annual Arizona Songwriters Gathering
Saturday, January 27, 2024, 1000 - 1700
Listening! Learning! Networking! Inspiration! Performers, writers, and audience members of all ages are welcome to this FREE event.
Bring your voice and your instrument to take part in open song sharing circles. Learn from workshops and lectures presented by nationally recognized experts, including Robin Frederick, Tracey and Vance Marino, Pat Pattison, and Shelly Peiken. Topics include song critiques; writing songs for sync and metadata; the Music Licensing Collective; folk, indie-folk, and Americana song placement in TV and film; prosody; recording with a digital audio workstation; and building a successful music career and brand as an independent artist. Don't miss this opportunity to network with songwriters, producers, and performers.
Adding to the day's activities, participants can take part in the Songwriting Challenge, hosted by local songwriter Sandy Hathaway. To enter, artists can craft an original song based on any of four phrases and perform it at the Andy's Ballad Tree performance area.
Food trucks will provide food and beverages for purchase throughout the event. This project is supported in part by the Arizona Commission on the Arts which receives support from the State of Arizona and the National Endowment for the Arts. It is held in partnership with the Glendale Main Library and the Arizona Songwriters Association. Sound support and sponsorship is offered by Barnett Productions.
