2024 Lee County Libraries POP!-con and Renaissance Faire

This year we have an amazing event planned celebrating pop-culture and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) with a Renaissance twist. The library ties together a diverse variety of creative interests, hobbies, and geek culture to create a visitor experience centered on exploration and discovery. The library provides the opportunity for local artists, authors, performers, and their fandoms to engage in a unique experience of comic-con meets renaissance faire meets community festival. Our goal is to inspire visitors to engage, explore and connect with a variety of artists, creators, and designers to encourage current/future artists to pursue a hobby, interest, or career.

For our 2024 line-up, we welcome back several of our tried-and-true entertainers eager to return. They include the Knights of the Fiat Lux, Sword Circle, The Viking Experience, Thunder and Spice Musicians, CLAWS Rescue, The Pinata Lady with two bouncy Houses, Raven Forge Games, and LCL Gaming.

Our Street Faire will include more artists and vendors inside and outside of the library, and our Food Truck Row has secured five food trucks and food vendors. Last year we introduced large food tent with tables and chairs as well as additional restrooms to accommodate the crowds.

Our Cosplay Contest has grown considerably and is bringing in cosplayers from around our area. We have actually switched it up and this year will offer a morning judged contest and an afternoon fashion show for the public.
